Sizing Guide

All Manufacturers are Not Created Equal!  

Unless there is a Sizing Chart posted on every specific Category Page of our Collars offered, we recommend that you add 2" - 3" to whatever your dog's neck size is to ensure proper fitting on our general rhinestone collars.  It is NOT reliable to size collars based on your pet's current collar size.  If unsure, please do not hesitate to contact us so that there are NO MISTAKES. There are many different manufacturers with their OWN collar sizing measurements.  If your pet's measurement falls inbetween two sizes, we suggest ordering the larger size.

Sizing Guide for Clothing

All Dogs are Not Created Equal!  

We recommend that you use a flexible tape measure to find the proper dog clothing and accessory size. It is not reliable to size items based on your pet's breed or weight. There are many different breeds and it is difficult to determine sizing based only on weight, as it can be distributed differently for each pet.  If your pet's measurement falls in between two sizes, we suggest ordering the larger size.

Please use a flexible tape measure to ensure an accurate reading and measure your pet how you would like the garment to fit. The tape measure should not be taut against your pet's body or pressing down on your pet's fur. Some dogs have thicker, fluffier fur than others, and measuring too tightly often results in the garment pressing down on the fur, making him or her uncomfortable or the item will be too tight - adjust your measurement to account for thicker fur.

These are general sizing guidelines, all designers size differently, just like human designers.  Please review each products sizing charts to choose the correct size.  Most sizes are noted on top of each category and/or manufacturer.

How To Measure:

1.) The Broadest part of the chest (shown as Chest on the illustration above)
For chest measurement, measure the chest at its widest point, which is typically right behind the front legs. If the dog has a large girth, going up a size in the top line measurement is always a smart choice, since some additional fabric will be used up.

2.) The Length of the backbone (shown as Back Length on the illustration above)
Measuring should be done along the dog's backbone from the base of the head to the base of the tail. This is from the base of where the collar rests to where the tail is attached. The measurements you see on all our apparel indicate this top line measurement. However, it's important that the dog's girth be taken into account as well as the top line measurement.

3.) The Circumstances of the neck (shown as Neck on the illustration above)
The neck size determine whether the dog will be comfortable wearing clothing. If the neck is too tight, the dog would be hard to breath.
There are different sizing ranges for different types of garments, due to how binding or flexible the material used is.

 The most important is the chest size, so if the chest size is ok the other will not be a big matter.

 

Adult Dog Size Chart:
This chart gives you a general guideline for selecting collars and harnesses for your breed of dog. If purchasing for a specific dog, it is advised to get the dog's exact neck size and add 4" for correct collar size.  For dogs with 8", 10", and 12" necks, just add 2".
